Chinook

 Spring chinook are the most sought after salmon of the  Pacific Northwest due to their high fat content. In the beginning of the season, in mid April, grocery store prices can be up to $40.00 per pound. The number of fish can vary from year to year. Prime dates are April thru June.

The most abundant of all the salmon is the Fall chinook. In August, these fish start migrating up East on the Columbia. Days consist of normal limits of hard fighting chinook. August thru October is when I target these fish. Fish up to 30lbs are possible!!
